The most efficient way to power level a toon in WoW is to fetch yourself a WoW power leveling guide. One of these power levelling guides will guide you in the right direction for completing the quests that are shown to be faster. They commonly have the option to remove quests that might be lacking in enough experience to make the quest worthwhile.
For those who can’t afford a power levelling guide, here are some tips for power levelling without a guide.
To start off, a great way to improve your xp gain is to wait until you are in an inn before you stop playing for the day. When your toon is standing inside an inn, even while logged out, your toon with gain what is called “rest experience”. Rest xp is a temp boost in the amount of experience you get from questing/grinding. So it is an easy way to get some extra xp.
As well, with the inn, it is a great idea to set strategic inns to you home, so you can Hearthstone there. That way, you can get some rest xp, AND turn in some quests at the same time.
Ok, next is travel. During the lower levels you have to walk everywhere, pretty much. Once you both have enough gold and are high enough level GET yourself a MOUNT! I can’t emphasize that enough. A mount decreases travel time for questing. This in turn speeds up how fast you power level in WoW.
So, another idea is to avoid auctions and battlegrounds. These will not contribute to your toon’s level, so they are a waste of time, until you are the desired level anyways.
It is also a good idea to download a free program called Curse (just google it). It’s a good source of free addons that can increase efficiency of many time consuming tasks: like selling grey items and better arranging inventory. You will also find some addons that direct you towards your desired location.
A simple tip is stocking up before you start out on a quest. That’s important, because you don’t want to run out of simple things before you’re done in an area. It saves time. On that topic, when you are able to, buy bags, so that you can hold more potions and such. If you like to grab every single piece of loot you find, then this is particularly aimed at you. For the more practical players it is an awesome idea to substitute grey items for pricier items; more gold for your time.
